What is GRE:
GRE stands for Graduate Record Examination, owned by a USA based organisation ETS. Since 1949, GRE Exam is taken by the students all around the world aspiring an admission in the graduate schools. GRE is assessment of the candidate’s abilities like verbal reasoning, analytical writing and qualitative writing.
GRE scores are on the scale of 130 – 170. Each section has its own sectional score, and some of the Universities in Netherlands ask for specific sectional cut-offs. So it is better to check University websites for the course details and specific requirements.

Types of GRE test:
GRE is a section based test, the reasoning and quantitative parts of GRE will decide the difficulty level of the other sections. GRE Syllabus and Exam Pattern:
Verbal Reasoning:
The verbal reasoning consist of three parts, namely sentence equivalence, reading comprehension, and text completion. The time duration for the verbal reasoning is 70 minutes. It is basically testing the candidate’s ability to comprehend the given text and data.
Quantitative Aptitude:
The Quantitative Aptitude consists of basic concepts of algebra, geometry and arithmetic problems along with Data interpretation. The Quantitative section of the GRE has the time duration of 60 minutes. It comprises the use of mathematical principles in problem solving.
Analytical Writing:
There are two types questions in this section. Analysis of Issue essay and analysis of an argumentative essay. The time duration for this section is also 60 minutes, with 30 minutes to each question. The skills required are how to put an idea or argument across without breaking the flow in writing.
